Anna Tonini-Bossi
Secretary

Anna Tonini-Bossi began playing the cello at the age of eight. In 2015, she moved to Vienna to continue her concert cello studies in the class of Prof. Maria Sellner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), where she graduated with distinction in 2022 and obtained the title of Magistra artium. She is currently active as a freelance cellist in various fields. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), where she has also served as principal cellist, with the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, and with the Budapest Festival Orchestra. She is also a member of the Synchron Stage Orchestra Vienna and is a regular substitute with the Radio Symphony Orchestra RSO Vienna. Her great passion for chamber music led Anna Tonini Bossi, together with other mdw students, to found the Amai Quartet in 2020, a string quartet with which she won first prize and the audience award at the “Pietro Marzani” string quartet competition in Rovereto in 2021.

In addition to the standard repertoire, the ensemble is dedicated to rediscovering the works of forgotten female composers and exploring new concert formats to engage a broad audience by combining classical music with other forms of expression, such as theater. This interest in exploring alternative concert formats enabled Anna Tonini-Bossi to be selected as one of the artists to participate in the January 2025 performance of Planet Magic Flute at the newly founded Neue Staatsoper Nest in Vienna.

Kimchi & Dim Sum (Duo Amiri-Chan)

With a blend of romantic passion and a touch of playful charm, Kimchi & Dim Sum is the art song duo of baritone Jubin Amiri and pianist Donna Suenyan Chan. Active in Vienna since 2022, the duo presents a diverse repertoire of art songs in various languages and styles – with emotional depth, stylistic subtlety, and a vibrant stage presence. The name says it all: Jubin, a baritone with Korean and Persian roots, grew up in Vienna, where he immersed himself deeply in the city's musical culture. He brings kimchi – expressive, powerful, and full of depth.

Since beginning his vocal studies at the age of 19, he has performed at major Austrian venues such as the Theater an der Wien and the Vienna Konzerthaus, performing operatic roles such as Dr. Falke, Belcore, and Papageno. In 2023, he was heard as the baritone soloist in Carmina Burana at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Donna, originally from Hong Kong, brings dim sum – delicate, versatile, and rich in detail. After winning the International Art Festival for Keyboard Instruments, she moved to Vienna in 2016 and studied at the Richard Wagner Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). She is equally at home in solo, chamber music, and contemporary repertoire, including collaborations with Klangforum Wien. Kimchi & Dim Sum made their official debut at the MDW in 2022 and quickly received recognition for their exceptional musical and personal chemistry. Their rehearsals are considered focused, efficient, and deeply musical, and their performances mature, unified, and emotionally compelling. Donna is appreciated for her fine sound control and sensitive phrasing, while Jubin is known for his expressive voice, clear diction and natural narrative flair.
